Luxury & fashion

Sneakers & streetwear

Authenticate every drop, from the factory line to the resale floor.

The challenge

Limited drops and hype releases fuel one of the most sophisticated counterfeit markets, with replicas now matching stitching, boxes and even authentication cards. Resale platforms and grey-market sellers compound the problem: a single pair can change hands several times, and buyers paying a premium have no reliable way to confirm the item is the one that left the factory. Brands also face return fraud, where genuine pairs are swapped for fakes before refund.

The SealTrust answer

SealTrust assigns each pair a unique cryptographic identity at production, anchored on-chain so its history is publicly verifiable and cannot be back-dated. Every authentication scan is verifiable by the buyer, and ownership history is recorded across the full lifecycle, including legitimate resale and transfer. The result is a trust layer that follows the product from the factory line through every resale.

What you get

1

Tamper-evident proof of authenticity verifiable by any buyer in seconds

2

Ownership and resale history that cuts grey-market and return fraud

3

Direct post-sale channel to engage owners across drops and resale

The forensic layer

A convincing fake can copy a label. Copying the chip's cryptographic behaviour, and fooling the scan-pattern analysis behind it, is another matter.

  • Clone detection: when the same identity appears in two distant places at once, when a scan counter rolls backwards, or when a previous code is replayed, the system flags it.
  • Live trust score: every scan feeds a rule-based trust signal, so suspicious activity surfaces instead of slipping through.
  • Grey-market visibility: verification locations and ownership movements give the brand a factual view of where its products actually circulate.
  • Protected transfers: ownership changes require OTP/TOTP confirmation. A stolen session is not enough to move a product.

QR or NFC for this vertical

Recommended method: QR + NFC

NFC for premium and hype models where tamper-evidence and resale trust justify the cost; QR for high-volume mainline ranges.

Where it goes on the product

A cryptographic NFC tag in the tongue or insole, or a QR code printed on the inner tongue label or care tag.

The Digital Product Passport for this vertical

Footwear is a textile-adjacent category under the EU ESPR, which lists textiles among its priority product groups for the Digital Product Passport. SealTrust delivers a structured, machine-readable DPP carrying materials, manufacturing origin, care and end-of-life data linked to each pair's unique identity.

Regulatory milestones

ESPR delegated act: textiles & apparel

Expected: act not published

Deadline : DPP obligation expected to apply from around 2028 (indicative planning horizon, not set in law).

The expected shape: fibre composition, recycled content share, durability and care information, repairability, substances of concern, recyclability and end-of-life guidance, and traceability of the main production steps. Structuring composition, origin and supplier data per SKU now turns the future deadline into a mapping exercise rather than a rebuild.

Statuses and dates come from our regulation radar: real texts only, flagged as indicative when they are.
